GRADUATION CERIMONY AND OPENING OF THE PUBLIC WORK
On October 15th 2011, the biennium course 2009-2011 was completed with the graduation ceremony and the inauguration of the Provincial School for Social Professions E. Lévinas windows in Bolzano.
14 students from all around the world graduated after a two year course of more than 2600 hours, where they were taught by famous international teachers the most important glass processing techniques.
During the two years, students could visit Murano’s furnaces as well as at the Glastec in Düsseldorf; they could make the most of further lectures at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the University of Trento and the University of Bolzano; students could eventually have some work experience at companies and art studios.
Over the final period of the 2010-2011 school year, students have created two monumental glass windows for the façade of the new School for Social Professions on Angela Nikoletti Square nr. 1 in Bolzano; it is an awesome, massive work of more than 24 square meters in precious blown glass, painted according to the copper caming technique. The windows were designed by the student Sofia Villamarin, the biddings winner, and it was entirely made and assembled on site by the students under the supervision of the Vetroricerca teachers Sante and Diego Pizzol.
A video documenting the creation of the windows was shown during the graduation ceremony, which was also attended by the Department Director Dr. Thomas Mathà and by the School for Social Professions’ Director Dr. Giorgio Bissolo.
